To all postgraduates seeking a career in environmental consultancy
Have you completed or are you completing postgraduate studies in environmental sciences/ engineering or related subjects; and are you looking for your first permanent position in environmental consulting?
Gaining your first position in a career in the environmental consultancy sector is difficult, not aided by the current economic climate and lack of any sort of formal route into this area of work.
Eden Recruitment is hosting a seminar to aid postgraduates in environmental and related subjects in their search for employment in the environmental consulting sector.
The seminar will comprise three presentations:
1. How to create the right CV for the role, and get it in front of the right person.
The first presentation, given by a Director at Eden Recruitment, will advise on creating the right CV for the role, and how to get that CV in front of the right contact at your chosen consultancy.
2. What employers are really looking for in a new consultant.
This presentation will be given by a Director from WSP Environmental and will focus on specific attributes from a potential employer’s perspective and the combination of technical skills, personal approach and business acumen needed to succeed in consultancy.
3. Interview and assessment skills
The Recruitment Manager for WSP Environmental will provide an introduction to interview technique, the role of the assessment centres and what to expect at interview.
In addition to the presentations, attendees will be invited to forward their CVs to the organisers when posting payment. The document shall be returned at the seminar with comments as to how the CV could be improved.
The seminar will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday 18th November at Brunel University and is priced at only £39.50 (inc. of VAT).
Please call Paul Seeley on 01750 505047 for booking information.
